SACHSENHAUSEN. Considered by many film historians and movie buffs to be the finest film museum in the region, this cultural venue shows an array of classic films, and displays include Edison's 1889 Kinetoscope and a copy of the Lumière brothers' 1895 film work. Other exhibits chronicle the development of a film studio and the process of making a film from the planning stage to the wrap session. Interesting and enlightening.

SACHSENHAUSEN. This popular art museum features an array of work by national and international sculpture artists from the classical to the Baroque periods. View such works as van Leyden's "Head of Bärbel von Ottenheim" and Riemenschneider's Madonna. Interesting and inventive pieces that highlight the development of the sculpture arts.

SACHSENHAUSEN. One of many stops on a row of museums on the Schaumainkai on the Main River in the heart of the city, this was designed by American architect Richard Meier. An extensive collection of decorative arts includes furniture, ceramics and glasswork from a variety of countries, periods and cultures, including European and Asian pieces.

CITY CENTER. This newest museum in the city attracts visitors to view its extensive collection of modern art as well as to study the architecture of the building, which itself is a modern marvel. Works of major artists from the 1950's to the present are displayed with new exhibits are being added constantly. Artists include Lichtenstein and George Segal, as well as German modern masters August Sambe and Gerhard Richter.

SACHSENHAUSEN. Frankfurt's leading fine art museum houses works from a range of historic periods and styles dating from the 14th to the 20th century. A huge collection that represents work from great masters Durer, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Hans Holbein the Younger and Beckmann.
