SACHSENHAUSEN. Situated on the Alt-Sachsenhausen, a street full of history and romance, Bombay Gate stands out, with its dusty rose facade and carved niches holding statues on either side of the arched doorway. Once inside, archways separate the dining areas, done up in cool shades of green, a direct counterpoint to the savory spicy, rainbow of flavors of Indian and Pakistani delights on the menu, which included a plethora of vegetarian dishes. Good service and fair prices.

CITY CENTER. If you find yourself in Frankfurt craving curry, there's no better place than Jewel of India, an elegant restaurant with a large menu of Indian favorites. And if you can't make up your mind what to order, opt for the King's or Queen's feast (Nawabi Khazana or Begumi Khazana), an assortment of dishes designed for the tastebuds to embark on a culinary passage to India.

CITY CENTER. Turbans, high backed throne-like chairs and the fantastic smell of curry reside at the Mayur, along with the colors of India, royal red and whites. The menu is extensive, and the buffet makes it easy to sample a variety of excellent dishes.
